Do ultra-processed foods affect long-term health?

Yes—higher consumption of ultra-processed foods is associated with several poorer long-term health outcomes, including cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, obesity, some mental-health outcomes, mortality, and possibly certain cancers.
